Within a 3 page essay, write a detailed discussion of your choice on one (1) of the following three (3) topics from Not On Our Watch: The Mission To End Genocide In Darfur And Beyond:

1. Give the year and tell what country from which Sudan was granted its independence. In your response, tell what actions the colonizer initiated in the year prior to granting Sudan independence, and discuss how these actions would have contributed to the historic rise of ethnic tensions in Sudan.

2. Discuss what is meant by Cheadle and Prendergast description of the Janjanweed as “…Sudan’s…far deadlier version of Klu Klux Klan.” (51)
 

3. Identify the acronyms SPLA, NIF and LRA.  Give the major objective of these organizations, how they connect or disconnect with “North-South Peace Process.”
