Find a recent research article from a scholarly journal in teh field of developmental psychology. It must has been published less TEMPthan 12 years ago. Your selected article must meet all of the stated criteria or your assignment will not be accepted. Before proceeding, please ensure that your selected article meets the following criteria:

• Is a scholarly journal article in the field of psychology
• Was published less TEMPthan 12 years ago.

Get a sense of what the article is about by reading some key sections. Begin by reading the Abstract of the article. Subsequently, read the Introduction and the discussion sections. Flip through the paper and look at any figures or tables. Read as much of the paper as practical; get as much out of it as you can.

Write a paper of at least 2000 (five pages) words in which you:

1. Identify you’re selected article, using a proper APA-style reference. See examples at teh end of dis assignment.

2. Describe wat type of article it is and how you can tell. For example, is it primarily a review of existing research, a report of new research, or an analysis of a professional issue? Describe how you can tell. If it is a research article, identify teh type of research involved.

1. Summarize what you have learned about the content of the article. Be sure to include the main purpose of the article, the major findings, and how the major findings are supported.
2. Explain how this article fits into teh overall field of developmental psychology. Then, identify teh corresponding chapter(s) from you’re textbook.
3. Explain why this article is different and similar from articles in non-scholarly periodicals, such as magazines and newspapers.

SCENARIO

You are the ethics officer of a marketing firm. The company prides itself on only engaging in ethical business practices. In order to ensure that all of its employees understand corporate ethical policy, new employees must attend an ethics training as part of the onboarding process. Additionally, every employee must attend an annual ethics training. These ethical training programs are developed by the marketing firm’s ethics officer (you), the marketing firm’s human resources (HR) director, and an outside consulting firm.

In a joint development session, the team works through the training development materials that will be presented at this year’s two-day ethics training session. This year, the focus is on two primary topics: employees’ rights and responsibilities in the workplace and employer’s ethical responsibilities toward employees. In addition, hypothetical ethical scenarios are developed to evaluate the employees’ understanding of company ethical standards, general ethical decision-making, and desired courses of action.

REQUIREMENTS

Your submission must be your original work. 3. Develop one ethical business dilemma that can be used to demonstrate employee understanding of the company’s ethical standards.

4. Evaluate the dilemma from part A3 from a utilitarian and relativistic perspective.

5. Describe two common ethical decisions that reflect corporate ethics and responsibilities that employees can face while working in a corporate setting.

Note: These should be different from the ethical business dilemma in part A3.

6. Explain why each ethical decision in part A5 presents an ethical dilemma and how an individual might justify unethical behavior (e.g., common excuses).

B. Acknowledge sources, using in-text citations and references, for content that is quoted, paraphrased, or summarized.

C. Demonstrate professional communication in the content and presentation of your submission.

The use of personal communication devices can have a serious negative impact on patients if nurses violate patient privacy, and there could be serious consequences for the nurse if the boards of nursing (BON) investigate. The BON could investigate on the grounds of unprofessional or unethical conduct, mismanagement of patient records, moral turpitude, revealing privileged information, or breach of confidentiality (NCSBN, 2011). Consequences could be anything from disciplinary action to permanent loss of licensure (NCSBN, 2011). I’m sure we have all worked hard for our nursing license and it would be foolish to do anything knowingly to jeopardize it.
Personal communication devices, such as smart phones and tablets, can have a positive impact as well. They can be used to look up information needed by the nurse such as drug side effects and patient education, but the nurse would need to find reliable resources. Quick and easy access to pertinent information and EBP could help nurses manage time and spend more time with their patients (Giles-Smith, Spencer, Shaw, Porter, & Lobchuk, 2017).
To address ethical issues, a nurse should understand the difference between privacy and confidentiality regarding healthcare. Privacy is a patients’ right to choose who can acquire, use, or disclose their personal health information, while confidentiality is the responsibility of the health care provider to respect those rights (Levy, 2018). Any unauthorized use of patient information, whether it be a photo, e-mail, text, or any other form of communication, is in direct conflict with patient rights and is therefore unethical.
As an observational note, I have also worked with nurses and ancillary staff who have their faces glued to their phones and are unaware of what’s going on around them, and in that respect, unsupportive of other staff. Personal communication devices can be distracting, or they can be helpful, we need to use them in a way that is efficient while maintaining patient privacy.
